About the Role
A&D Precision is seeking an experienced CNC Programmer / Process Engineer to support efficient, high-quality machining operations. This hybrid role combines advanced CNC programming with hands-on process engineering to improve production performance, optimize machining methods, and support quoting and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities CNC Programming- Program all new jobs for vertical, horizontal, and 5-axis mills using technical drawings, solid models, and customer specs
- Conduct test runs and operate CNC machines as needed to validate programs
- Provide ongoing programming support to the shop floor
- Troubleshoot machining and quality issues and implement solutions
- Optimize cutting paths and machine settings to improve cycle time and efficiency
- Research and recommend appropriate tooling and materials
- Develop and maintain detailed work instructions in the ERP system
- Support evaluation and selection of new equipment
- Lead process optimization for new and existing parts (fixture design, reprogramming, improvements)
- Review/update engineering drawings for accuracy (tolerances, engravings, alignment to production)
- Serve as a liaison for GD&T interpretation and customer/internal technical questions
- Collaborate with vendors and internal teams on tooling, fixturing, and improvement projects
- Participate on the internal audit team (audit execution + action planning)
- Maintain and organize the tooling cabinet system for production efficiency
- Strong CNC programming experience (vertical/horizontal/5-axis milling)
- Solid understanding of machining processes and production optimization
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings, models, and GD&T
- Strong troubleshooting skills and attention to quality
- Comfortable working cross-functionally with production, vendors, and engineering
