Senior Manufacturing / Mechanical Engineer

Position Summary

American Appliance Products, LLC is seeking a Senior Manufacturing / Mechanical Engineer to join our Newport, Tennessee team. This role is critical in driving the design, development, and delivery of high-quality, build-to-specification products that support our manufacturing operations.

We are looking for a hands‑on engineering professional with a strong technical foundation and real-world experience in product and/or process engineering. This position offers a defined development pathway into a leadership role, making it an excellent opportunity for a mid-career engineer ready to grow into engineering management.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead engineering projects from concept through production, ensuring products meet customer and internal specifications
  • Apply hands‑on experience in product and process engineering within a manufacturing environment
  • Partner with production teams to improve processes, enhance efficiency, and maintain high quality standards
  • Provide leadership and direction to small teams of engineers and technical staff
  • Support troubleshooting efforts, root cause analysis, and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including operations, quality, and supply chain
  • Ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, and aligned with company goals
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related engineering discipline
  • Strong foundational engineering background with demonstrated technical capability
  • Experience in product and/or process engineering (early career experience acceptable with strong hands‑on exposure)
  • Demonstrated ability to lead projects or small teams
  • Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and communication skills
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with welding, fabrication, and machining processes
  • Background in a manufacturing or industrial production environment
  • Proven ability to deliver engineered products built to specification
  • Experience mentoring or leading engineers in a team setting
