Lead Msp Field Engineer

A growing managed services provider is hiring a Lead MSP Engineer for a full-time remote opportunity with onsite travel to Ohio twice per month. This company specializes in enterprise infrastructure, cloud modernization, cybersecurity, and managed IT solutions for mid-market and enterprise clients across multiple industries. You'll work heavily with Microsoft technologies, VMware, networking, cloud platforms, and automation tools while leading complex infrastructure initiatives in a fast-paced MSP environment.

This is a full-time direct hire opportunity offering strong compensation, leadership visibility, and long-term growth potential.

Required Skills & Experience

• 7+ years of experience in an MSP or consulting environment
• Strong experience with Windows Server, Active Directory, and Microsoft 365
• Hands-on expertise with VMware or Hyper-V virtualization
• Advanced networking knowledge including firewalls, VPNs, VLANs, and routing/switching
• Experience leading technical projects and mentoring junior engineers
• Strong troubleshooting and client-facing communication skills
• Experience with cloud platforms such as Azure or AWS
• Ability and willingness to travel onsite to Ohio twice monthly

Desired Skills & Experience

• Experience with automation and scripting using Power Shell
• Knowledge of cybersecurity best practices and endpoint security tools
• Experience with backup and disaster recovery solutions
• Exposure to Red Hat Linux environments
• Certifications such as Microsoft, VMware, Cisco, or Azure
• Previous experience acting as a technical lead or escalation engineer
