Shape the Systems That Power Industry

A rapidly growing industrial engineering consulting firm is seeking an Electrical Design Engineer to support heavy industrial and agricultural projects from concept through construction. This role offers the opportunity to work independently, collaborate with a distributed team, and make a tangible impact on critical infrastructure—while enjoying flexible work options and clear professional growth paths.

What You'll Do
  • Design and develop industrial electrical systems—including power distribution, grounding, lighting, instrumentation, and motor controls—for agricultural and heavy industrial facilities
  • Produce, modify, and review electrical drawings, schematics, layouts, P&IDs, and equipment schedules using AutoCAD and Revit (where applicable)
  • Support projects through all phases—concept, design, documentation, coordination, and construction support
  • Participate in technical design reviews to ensure compliance with NEC, IEEE, and general industrial electrical standards
  • Assist with or review studies such as arc flash and coordination analyses using SKM or ETAP, as needed
  • Collaborate closely with internal project teams and external clients in a professional, consulting-style environment
  • Manage multiple projects and priorities effectively in a fast-paced setting
  • Clearly communicate technical concepts, design intent, and project status to stakeholders
What You Bring Required Experience & Skills
  • Experience in industrial electrical design (e.g., agriculture, ethanol, processing, material handling, power distribution, or similar facilities)
  • Strong understanding of industrial electrical systems and best practices
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD; ability to produce accurate, constructible electrical documents
  • Comfort working independently while collaborating with a distributed engineering team
  • Ability to operate confidently in a client-facing consulting role
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
Preferred & Additional Qualifications
  • Revit experience for electrical design and multidisciplinary coordination
  • Knowledge of NEC, IEEE standards, and industrial electrical codes
  • Experience with SKM, ETAP, arc flash, or coordination studies
  • Consulting or engineering services experience
  • Education:

Sr Engineers: 4-year degree in electrical engineering or related field preferred
Why This Is a Great Place to Work
  • Small, high-performing team where individual contributions are visible and valued
  • Meaningful responsibility early—engineers are trusted to own work and influence outcomes
  • Real-world impact supporting critical infrastructure across agriculture, energy, and material processing
  • Clear growth opportunities within a fast-growing firm founded in 2022
  • Collaborative, low-bureaucracy culture with modern tools and approachable leadership
Work Environment

You'll join a tight-knit electrical engineering group (approximately 5–10 engineers) within a fast-growing consulting firm. The environment emphasizes collaboration, technical excellence, and flexibility. Projects focus on heavy industrial and agricultural facilities and involve direct coordination with clients and multidisciplinary teams. As the firm grows, so do opportunities for advancement and leadership.
