Position Overview
Trane Technologies is seeking an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer to design equipment and systems supporting the organization’s sustainability goals. The role collaborates with engineering teams to develop new and improved commercial HVAC products, solve complex technical problems, and produce sustainable solutions. The position is based Monday to Thursday onsite with flexibility to work from home on Fridays.
Responsibilities- Meet the needs of internal and external customers by documenting, understanding, and prioritizing customer requirements.
- Apply technical expertise to solve design problems or determine suitability of products for various applications.
- Participate on project teams to achieve performance, reliability, cost, and schedule objectives.
- Create and maintain engineering documentation, including 3D models (Autodesk Inventor), bills of materials, drawings, and specifications.
- Conduct design FMEAs; develop and execute resulting risk mitigation plans.
- Travel domestically and internationally as required (approximately 10% of the time).
- Bachelor’s Degree in Arts/Sciences (BA/BS) in Engineering Discipline.
- 2+ years of experience contributing to technical aspects of product design projects, validation testing, and root cause analysis.
- Proficiency in delivering technical designs that meet project and product requirements.
- Experience with PLM software such as Teamcenter (desired).
Annual Base Salary Range: $84,740.00 – $. Compensation is based on factors such as seniority, merit, geographic location, education, experience, travel requirements, and union designation.
