Job Purpose:Directly contributes to the execution of AEC's strategic plans and overall growth by serving as a primary interface for Engineering, R&T and AEC's Business Development to drive insertion of ceramic matrix based composite materials and emerging technologies into production applications. This individual will identify and drive internal and customer-facing activities to accelerate AEC's profitable growth through technology differentiation. Success requires outstanding relationships with target customers and AEC leadership, and collaboration with AEC's Engineering, Customer and Marketing teams to strengthen AEC's brand in the marketplace.
Job Responsibilities- CMC composites technical lead in capturing new opportunities and leading application developments for AEC's new and emerging technologies with new customers; primary technical interface to AEC Business Development for inserting technologies with existing customers on current or new platforms
- Contributes directly to the execution of customer and internally funded development projects aimed at TRL 4-7 applications
- Develops technical scopes of work, proposals, and directional production pricing targets to drive adoption of AEC's technologies
- Provides technical leadership and support to project engineers during project execution
- Develops and maintains strong relationships with targeted key customers to identify:
- customer needs where AEC's unique technology can be leveraged to provide a solution
- new programs with the best opportunity to insert AEC's technologies in the near term
- intermediate and long-term opportunities where customers' and AEC's R&D activities could collaborate
- Supports the strengthening of AEC's brand in the marketplace through industry and trade show engagements
- Contributes to AEC's technical organization as a recognized leader in CMC composite materials and processes knowledge base
- Supports the ongoing direction of AEC's technology focus areas by aligning the voice of the customer with growth strategies
Job Location: Strong preference for Rochester, NH base; remote employee considered for strong candidate

Qualifications/Characteristics- 7 or more years of progressively responsible composite industry Engineering, Sales, and/or Marketing experience in an engineered products business required.
- Experience in CMC (Ceramic Matrix Composites), Hypersonic and Advanced Electronics is ideal.
- Undergraduate degree, preferably in Business or Engineering, required. Advanced business or technical degree preferred but not required.
- Special consideration for applicants with aerospace composites or textile manufacturing experience with understanding of mechanics and strength of materials.
- Demonstrated experience working directly or through collaboration in an R&T environment.
- Ability to deliver exceptional results in a relatively unstructured, tightly resourced, high-growth organization is a significant advantage.
- Strong knowledge of development and qualification/certification process in the aerospace industry for new engineered products production opportunities.
- Ability to travel up to 40% monthly.
- Ability to obtain security clearance.
- Proven ability to solve complex problems and deliver results in a global manufacturing environment with cross-functional teamwork; willingness to perform hands-on work while delegating effectively.

Office environment, indoors, moderate to quiet noise, comfortable temperatures. Not substantially exposed to adverse environmental conditions. Ability to work a 24/7 schedule as required. Some remote work possible. Travel may be required.
Physical requirementsOccasionally move items >10 lbs; frequently move about production floor and office areas; must be able to stay in a stationary position up to 75% of the time; frequently operate a computer.
