Systems Engineer
Sales Engineer – DoD
Silvus Technologies, a subsidiary of Motorola Solutions, is reshaping mesh network technology for mission‑critical applications in defense, law enforcement, and public safety. We are seeking an entrepreneurial technologist to serve as a Sales Engineer – DoD, working closely with Sales, Marketing, and Business Development teams to provide tailored solutions, conduct technical sales demonstrations, and support our advanced multi‑antenna MIMO radio and mesh networking solutions.
Roleand Responsibilities
- Provide pre‑ and post‑sales technical support, including system planning, customer training, and system optimization.
- Become an expert on Silvus’ radio and networking solutions and their advantages over competing technologies.
- Prepare and conduct product demonstrations for customer visits and equipment evaluations.
- Visit customer sites to provide technical support and deliver training.
- Troubleshoot failures and abnormal situations in the field.
- Collect and analyze field failures and abnormalities and provide feedback to the development team.
- Assist design engineers in reproducing and troubleshooting problems.
- Participate in resource allocation and hardware maintenance for sales and business development activities.
- Help drive future product development.
- Perform related duties as required.
- Travel requirements – 50% of time for meetings, events, and demonstrations.
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related technical field with at least 2 years of experience in pre‑ and post‑sales technical support; OR High School Diploma/GED with at least 6 years of such experience.
- Proficiency with radio frequency instruments such as signal generators and spectrum analyzers.
- Willingness to travel and work at customer sites.
- Security Clearance:
Active U.S. Government SECRET clearance or the ability to obtain one within 15 months of hire. - Must be a U.S. Citizen.
- All employment is contingent upon successful background check and drug test clearance.
- Familiarity with Linux operating systems.
- Proficiency with TCP/IP protocol and networking.
- Experience operating and testing IP radios/modems.
- Knowledge of wireless communication systems, radio frequency signal propagation, and digital communication technologies.
- Proficiency with programming languages such as C/C++.
- Excellent organization skills and attention to detail.
- Demonstrated written and verbal communication skills.
Physical Requirements
- Participation in trade shows and outdoor demonstrations.
- Occasional exposure to heat, cold, and allergens during field tests or demonstrations.
- Ability to lift equipment up to 50 lbs. for setup and testing.
Base salary: $80,000 – $120,000 annual, plus commissions. On‑target earnings (OTE) may reach up to $170,000.
