Job Description & How to Apply Below
Join Aevoloop
Join aevoloop, one of Europe's fastest-scaling deep-tech startups, and help shape the future of next-generation plastics.
- Develop a 50 kg batch polycondensation process for our innovative, novel polyester based plastic products as an integral part of aevoloop's polymer R&D team.
- Identify, develop, and install reaction automation concepts for our polycondensation processes.
- End-to-end responsibility for the development of aevoloop's pilot polycondensation process with a focus on hardware. Build and refine a process, starting from the dosing of monomers and catalysts and the addition of processing aids (e.g. rheology modifiers and stabilisers), proceeding through several polymerisation stages, and finishing with the production of the final polymer pellet.
- Perform techno-economic assessments, process simulations, and mass and energy balance calculations in order to identify the ideal polycondensation process.
- Determine safety-related process and material parameters and derive appropriate countermeasure strategies. Lead HAZOP analyses to make sure all safety standards are met.
- Degree in Chemical Engineering, Process Engineering, Polymer Chemistry or a related field, concluded with a PhD (or Diploma), with experience in polycondensation processes.
- A minimum of 3 years industrial experience in batch operated stirred tank reactor processes, preferably polycondensation processes.
- Well-versed in HAZOP analysis, process simulation, process automation, techno-economic analysis, and mass and energy balancing.
- Excellent communication skills in English (written and spoken);
German language skills are advantageous. - You bring a hands-on mindset, structure your work efficiently, and collaborate seamlessly across disciplines – even under the dynamics of a fast-paced start-up environment.
- Please note that this role is currently fully based on-site and does not offer hybrid or remote work options.
- Real Impact:
Help redesign plastics for a truly circular economy. - Startup Mindset:
Flat hierarchies, fast decisions and early responsibility as we scale. - Team Culture:
Join a team of curious minds that challenge each other, collaborate openly and celebrate progress together. - Growth & Learning:
Steep learning curves, regular feedback and room to grow with the company. - Well-being Perks – Hansefit membership and fresh fruit boost your overall health and well-being.
