At AFRY Hydro Nordics, we face an exciting future as one of the world's largest consulting companies in hydropower. In Sweden, we are currently 120 consultants who together drive the development in hydropower – from dams and dam safety to geotechnics, hydromechanics, hydraulics, power stations, and environmental design.

We are now looking for more colleagues with a background in generators, who want to drive community-important hydropower projects at the forefront of technology together with us. We are looking for both those with a focus on mechanics and those with a focus on electrical calculations.

In the role with an electrical calculation focus, you will work on electrically dimensioning the generator including cooling in connection with pre-studies and drafting of request documents. It may include new and/or upgrading of the generator. It also includes working with RfG matters at grid connection of modified production units (case management, simulation).

In the role with a mechanical focus, you will instead focus on pre-studies, request documents (technical specifications) and questions around rotor dynamics and vibration, construction of mechanical systems and control technology, etc.

Regardless of focus, you will follow projects from the initial stages at, for example, status assessment and drafting of pre-study reports to participating during implementation on site in the control function role. If interested, there is also the possibility for project leader responsibility of national as well as international resources, as well as the possibility for a greater responsibility from our specialist group where you are involved in influencing our continued development of Power Station.

We are today an engaged team consisting of 24 project managers, specialists, and designers in electrical control, automation, and turbine technology. We collaborate broadly across the country within Hydro and within AFRY as well as through international collaborations. The work is usually carried out from the office or home office and travel and site visits to the facilities occur as a natural part of the role.

You work independently, proactively, and gladly take your own initiatives to effectively move forward. Since we work in a customer-focused business, it is important that you are responsive and clear in your communication and have an ease in creating trusting collaborative relationships both internally and externally.

Further, we see that you have previous experience working with generators where you have worked with requirements in renewal or reinvestment projects. You can express yourself well in Swedish and English in speech and writing. Having a civil or engineering college education is meritorious.

For the role with a mechanical focus, it is also meritorious if you have:

• Experience with rotor dynamics and vibration
• Knowledge of materials and strength (e.g., thermal expansion and fatigue)
• Knowledge of machine elements and tribology (bearings, seals & shafts, etc.)
• Performed FAT and SAT for the mechanical generator components according to ITPs.

For the role with an electrical calculation focus, we see it as meritorious if you have:

• Experience with electrical dimensioning of the generator including cooling
• Work with RfG matters at grid connection of modified production units
• Performed FAT and SAT for the electrical generator components according to ITPs.
