Consor Engineers is seeking a motivated Engineer In Training (EIT) to join our growing Transportation Planning & Design Group in our Draper, Utah office. As a dynamic and rapidly expanding engineering consulting firm, Consor offers exceptional opportunities for professional growth, mentorship, and career advancement. In this role, you will support the design and delivery of local, county, and state roadway projects, including UDOT highway projects.
As a roadway engineering designer, you will assist with geometric analyses, calculations, and preparation of design plans using industry-standard criteria and software. Salary Range: $70,000 – $105,000 DOE
Examples of Current Project Work:
- Reconstruction of urban roadways with traffic signals
- Intersection improvement projects
- Roundabout design
- Roadway preservation on high-volume highways
- New multi-use trail projects
This position offers hands-on learning across project types and phases, providing a strong foundation for your transportation design career.
What You'll Do:
- Assist in developing typical sections, horizontal & vertical alignments, profiles, layouts, and cross-sections
- Support the design team with preparation of design documentation, plan sets, reports, and quantity calculations
- Monitor design work for compliance with engineering standards, codes, and best practices
- Perform engineering calculations and develop cost estimates
What You'll Need:
- 2+ years of civil engineering experience, preferably in transportation or roadway design
- Proficiency with Bentley Open Roads Designer (ORD), Micro Station, Civil 3D, or AutoCAD (Consor will train candidates without Open Roads experience.)
- Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering
- Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification, or ability to obtain within a reasonable timeframe (FE exam passed or scheduled)
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, etc.)
This hybrid job operates between an office environment and a field environment and routinely requires the use of standard office equipment such as computers, phones and copy machines. May require occasional exposure to work environments that may include inclement weather, heat, humidity, noise, hazard, atmospheric conditions, and bodies of water, depending on project requirements. While performing the duties of this job, physical demands of the employee include frequent sitting, moving, standing, talking, hearing, and occasional balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, handling, grasping, and feeling.
This job may occasionally require operating a company vehicle, and lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling up to 35 lbs.
