Mechanical Design Engineer
All Tek has partnered with a local manufacturing company to find an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer to add to their growing team. This individual would work with a team of 4-5 other mechanical engineers and have an opportunity to eventually take on lead responsibilities. This is a direct hire role. Healthcare, vacation, and 401k included. Work from home and a 9/80 schedule.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Designs and analyzes electro-mechanical components and systems.
- Conducts studies and testing on new and modified designs.
- Develops design information for use in drawings and specifications.
- Provides engineering design, maintenance support, and training for new product and equipment.
- Assesses new and existing equipment to optimize design efficiency, safety, quality, and cost effectiveness.
- Designs and conducts experiments, collects data, and interprets results; conducts analysis and writes analysis and test reports.
- Capable of drawing conclusions and reconciling differences between predicted values and actual results.
- Plans, coordinates, and executes, with guidance, a variety of engineering activities including documentation, reporting, publishing, and making technical or other presentations.
- Designs new equipment and machinery.
- May assist in building, installing, debugging, and testing new equipment to ensure production capabilities.
- Determines maintenance schedules, procedures, and safety standards for current and new equipment to ensure equipment is operated, maintained, and serviced properly.
- Determines technical objectives and develops innovative, practical solutions to advance technical engineering problems.
- Provides technical support to failure investigations and bid responses.
Education and Experience:
Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering; advance degree a plus. Minimum 2-10 years work experience dealing with manufacture and design of engineered products. Experience with rotating equipment and machine designs (motors, pumps, generators, and propulsors). GD&T, CAD systems, CAE systems, FEA methods.
