Become part of our Federal team as a Structural Engineer specializing in maritime and civil works infrastructure. We are seeking individuals who are passionate about diversifying their careers and performing structural engineering for a variety of project types including locks and dams, tidal gates and barriers, flood walls, piers, wharves, pump stations, treatment facilities, as well as conventional designs for buildings, water, and wastewater infrastructure.
You’ll lead project teams through the design process and interact directly with clients, owners, and contractors. You’ll be accountable for schedule, scope, budget, and quality of engineering tasks, calculations, and construction documents. The ideal candidate is a strong communicator who will build relationships with Civil Works staff across Jacobs’ lines of business to coordinate design activities with waterfront ports and maritime engineers on coastal and inland waterways projects.

- Bachelor’s Degree in Structural Engineering or Civil Engineering with a structural emphasis.
- Professional Engineer (P.E.) license.
- At least 10 years’ relevant professional experience designing structures for maritime, civil works, and buildings.
- Experience working in a multi‑disciplined environment.
- Strong analytical and organizational skills.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills including presentations.
- Proficiency in structural finite element analysis software (e.g., ETABS, RISA, RAM, STAAD, SAP
2000, MathCAD). - Knowledge of technical codes & standards (IBC, ASCE, UFC, etc.).
- United States Citizenship.
- Master’s Degree in Structural Engineering or Civil Engineering with a Structural emphasis.
- Structural Engineer (S.E.) license.
- Federal design experience for U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE).
- Federal design experience for Department of Defense (DoD) clients.
- Civil Works experience with onsite participation in construction activities.
- Experience leading project teams and mentoring junior staff.
- Experience with BIM 360 and Revit.
- Experience with Navisworks and Bluebeam.

The base salary range for this position is $ to $. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job‑related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
