ICF’s Transportation Line of Business specializes in addressing complex planning, policy, and program issues at the nexus of transportation and the environment, energy, and communities. The work focuses on integrated approaches that support sustainable transportation decisions, addressing mobility, safety, environmental, social, and economic effects of transportation. Services include strategic planning, research, policy analysis, outreach, training, and program evaluation for federal, state, and local governments, including the U.S. Department of Transportation, state departments of transportation, and metropolitan planning organizations.
Key Responsibilities- Lead the development of innovative, accurate, timely, and high‑quality products and services, focusing on state, regional, and local transportation plans and studies, typically working on multiple projects with staff at all levels.
- Manage project schedules and budgets.
- Facilitate workshops and outreach activities.
- Lead development of new business opportunities with a focus on state and local clients.
- Identify industry trends and work with division senior leadership to position ICF for long‑term growth.
- Lead identification and recruitment of new hire candidates, as appropriate.
- Master’s degree in urban planning, public policy, economics, environmental science, transportation/civil engineering, or related subjects, or equivalent professional experience.
- 10+ years of experience in transportation planning, policy, environmental issues, economics, or asset management.
- Experience working on state, regional, or local transportation plans or policy issues, especially in the Mid‑Atlantic or Southern Southeast states.
- 3+ years of experience within a consulting environment leading business development initiatives.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Proven business development capabilities.
- Ability to work collaboratively with project teams and clients to achieve established goals.
