Licensing Engineer Energy – Remote
We are seeking a Licensing Engineer Energy – Remote. This remote position is based out of our Oak Ridge, TN office.
Your RoleResponsible for applying engineering and nuclear regulatory knowledge and experience in support of developing power plant systems and programs in accordance with US licensing requirements.
Demonstrated understanding of 10 CFR, along with associated regulatory and industry guidance.
Part of the ARUSN Licensing group and will work preparing licensing documentation, such as topical and technical reports, Safety Analysis Reports, and applications for certifications, permits, and licenses.
Works closely with all engineering disciplines.
Supports development of engineering and licensing requirements and documentation for nuclear systems and components in an interactive manner with other engineering functional areas.
Prepares, reviews, maintains, and defends licensing documentation supporting a variety of nuclear designs.
Prepares and defends position papers for areas where the existing regulatory framework does not apply, or where there is a need for new or revised regulatory requirements or guidance.
Prepares and delivers licensing presentations to internal and external organizations.
Supports project management for activities including development of licensing submissions.
Eligible to work under 10 CFR Part 810 without specific authorization.
Applies knowledge and experience, industry best practices, regulatory guidance, codes and standards, and good engineering judgment to ensure the design is compliant with International regulatory criteria and industry best practices.
Works to assigned schedules ensuring the accuracy, completeness and timeliness of work and initiates corrective measures to overcome delays.
Receives instruction, guidance and direction from more senior licensing engineers and completes duties as assigned.
Performs other duties as assigned.
About YouBachelor's degree required in electrical engineering or related technical or engineering field.
Minimum of 3 years of experience, preferably in nuclear licensing and regulatory affairs.
Experience in nuclear industry preferred.
Strong communication skills
Familiarity with industry standards and licensing guides.
Excellent technical writing, interpersonal and effective communication skills.
Experience in drafting and reviewing licensing applications and submittals.
Experience working with designers and engineers to develop a safety analysis report (SAR).
Prior nuclear industry experience including interactions with NRC or other regulatory authorities.
Must be a U.S. citizen in order to be considered.

Additional InformationExpected compensation range is between $72,000 - $120,000 annually depending on skills, experience, and geographical location.
