JOB TITLE:
Materials Engineer - REMOTE
LOCATION
: REMOTE, PA
PAY RATE
: $76.00/hour

- Review designs of aerospace hardware for compliance with military specifications such as MIL-STD-11991.
- Review electrical and electronic equipment designs including piece parts, circuit card assemblies, wires and harnesses, and electromechanical assemblies.
- Develop non-standard part approval requests (NSPARs) for Department of Defense organizations.
- Interpret manufacturer datasheets, source control drawings, and Bill of Materials.
- Apply understanding of corrosion control (galvanics, dissimilar materials, coatings), flammability control, out gassing, metal fabrication (sheets, plates, castings, forgings), and composite fabrication.
- Support analysis and characterization of metallic and non-metallic materials and processing techniques for procurement, design, or operation.
- Support failure analyses, mechanical testing, corrosion studies, tribological evaluations, and environmental compatibility assessments.
- Ability to Obtain a Security Clearance.
- Three (3) years of experience working to MIL-STD-11991 requirements.
- Experience developing non-standard part approval requests (NSPARs) to DoD organizations.
- Experience interpreting manufacturer datasheets, source control drawings, and Bill of Materials.
- Strong understanding of corrosion control, flammability control, out gassing, metal fabrication, and composite fabrication.
- Experience in analysis and characterization of metallic and non-metallic materials.
- Experience supporting failure analyses, mechanical testing, corrosion studies, tribological evaluations, and environmental compatibility assessments.
- Degree in Metallurgical Engineering, Materials Science, Materials Engineering, or Physics is highly recommended.
Must be a U.S. Person (U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident, or protected individual under 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3)) to comply with ITAR regulations.
