Join our dynamic team as an Electrical Engineer, where you will take the lead in preparing electrical designs for Power Transformers. Imagine being at the forefront of design innovation, optimizing end products while adhering to Siemens Energy’s design rules and quality standards. You will engage in detailed electrical calculations and design documentation, ensuring that every transformer meets customer specifications and project requirements.

Collaborate with cross‑functional teams and contribute to the development of global design rules, all while making a significant impact in the energy sector.

How You’ll Make an Impact
  • You will perform electrical calculations for Power Transformers and prepare comprehensive electrical design documents.
  • Design parameters and dimensions of the active part of transformers to meet customer specifications, including losses, impedances, and noise levels.
  • Understand customer specifications and project requirements, preparing design review documents and technical reports.
  • Collaborate with sales, mechanical design, manufacturing, quality, testing, and service departments on technical topics related to electrical design.
  • Prepare technical specifications for ordering components such as tap changers, bushings, and winding conductors.
  • Estimate quantities for offers/tenders and engage in technical discussions with customers during offer and order execution stages.
What You Bring
  • You hold a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering.
  • You have 5+ years of experience as a design engineer in Power Transformers, utilizing design software tools for medium or large transformers above 100

    MVA/1450kV. Candidates with more experience may be considered for a higher level and vice versa.
  • You are proficient in 2D CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD) and have experience in 2D/3D electromagnetic simulation and electrostatic analysis.
  • If not already located in Charlotte, NC, must be willing to relocate (relocation assistance may be provided).
  • Applicants must be legally authorized for employment in the United States. Siemens Energy employees with current visa sponsorship may be eligible for internal transfers.
