Geotechnical Engineering Intern

The Geotechnical Intern will support transportation projects by performing calculations, investigations, drilling, logging, and related tasks under the supervision of experienced engineers.

• Assist in performing geotechnical calculations and analysis for small- and large-scale projects
• Assist in planning and conducting geotechnical investigations and site assessments
• Assist with geotechnical drilling, logging, and preparing boring logs
• Gain real-world experience on exciting projects
• Connect with recent college graduates and company leaders through mentoring and young professionals programs
• Apply standard engineering techniques and procedures
• Perform assignments under the direct supervision of a professional or Project Manager

• Willingness and ability to go to the field as needed
• Ability to effectively work independently and in a team environment
• Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint; familiarity with geotechnical software
• Prefer 2 years completed toward degree with 3.0+ GPA
• Demonstrated knowledge of software packages related to field of study or industry
• Local candidates preferred

• Currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate engineering program
• Attention to detail
• Strong problem-solving and communication skills
• Basic Microsoft Office skills

The position requires on-site work approximately 20 hours per week. This role does not offer remote work.
