We are looking for a railway engineer with an interest in programming
Would you like to help us modernize the railway?
At Railcomplete, we believe that BIM and automated model control are the key to smarter railway projects. We are looking for someone with a background in the railway sector who can help us develop our customer‑specific data sets.
We are developing RailCOMPLETE®, an AutoCAD plugin for railway design. Our tool is used to model and draw objects such as signals and catenary systems in 2D and 3D, and to produce complete tables and documentation for railway administrations. Our customers are consulting companies – such as Norconsult, Sweco and Multiconsult – and railway administrations, such as France’s SNCF.
Our customer customizationRailCOMPLETE is customized for each railway administration we cover. The customer customization defines which objects are found in the relevant railway system, what properties they have, how they are connected, and how they are displayed in 2D and 3D. Many of these rules are expressed in small programming formulas written in Lua.
What will you do?- Map the needs of various railway administrations, especially BaneNOR, together with the team.
- Communicate customer needs to developers and test developers’ proposals with customers.
- Assist the development team with your railway expertise.
- Learn to master RailCOMPLETE.
- Contribute to the training material and to training users in the program.
- You have a master’s or bachelor’s degree, preferably in railway engineering.
- You have experience in railway design – preferably in overhead lines, tracks, or signaling.
- You have good communication skills – you will communicate with our customers about design issues. We use Norwegian and English on a daily basis.
- A skilled and dedicated development team.
- Significant influence on both methodology and content – we listen to professional input and build the product together.
- Opportunity to develop expertise in both railway engineering and digital modeling.
- A combination of home office and office space at Fornebu (Lysaker).
- Flexible working hours and a high degree of independence.
- Norwegian work calendar with 12% holiday pay and flexitime (core hours 9am–3pm).
- No pressure to work overtime – we plan for a normal working day.
