Geotechnical Engineering Intern – (193974)

The Geotechnical Engineering Intern will support HDR's Transportation Business Group by assisting with geotechnical calculations, investigations and field interpretations on a variety of infrastructure projects.

• Assist in performing geotechnical calculations and analysis for small- and large-scale projects
• Assist in planning and conducting geotechnical investigations and site assessments
• Assist with geotechnical drilling, logging, and preparing boring logs
• Gain real-world experience on exciting projects
• Connect with recent college graduates and company leaders through mentoring and young professionals programs
• Apply standard engineering techniques and procedures
• Perform assignments under the direct supervision of a professional or Project Manager

• Currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate Engineering program
• Possess strong problem‑solving and communication skills
• Basic Microsoft Office skills
• An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of an employee‑owned culture is a must

• Willingness and ability to go to the field as needed
• Ability to effectively work independently and in a team environment
• Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and familiar with geotechnical software
• Prefer 2+ years completed toward a degree with a 3.0+ GPA
• Demonstrated knowledge of software packages related to the field of study/industry
• Local candidates preferred

Commit to working approximately 20 hours per week on-site. This position does not offer remote work.
