Senior Instrumentation and Controls (I&C) Engineer
Brown and Caldwell (BC), a leading employee-owned environmental engineering firm, is currently seeking a Senior Instrumentation and Controls (I&C) Engineer to collaborate with our local and national teams. In this role, your responsibilities will include developing I&C designs (specifications, control strategies, wiring diagrams, P&IDs), conducting control system startups for industrial and municipal projects, and partnering with client development teams with the goal of supporting proposal development.
The I&C Engineering role provides technical leadership and delivery for control system designs, including specifications, control strategies, P&IDs, wiring schematics, and associated design databases (equipment lists, instrument lists, I/O lists, panel schedules, instrument data sheets, etc.). The position oversees control panel and system architecture design, develops advanced process monitoring and control strategies, optimizes industrial control networks, and ensures compliance with industrial control system cyber-security requirements.
The role also maintains technical quality for controls-related electrical design and leads the selection and application of process instrumentation and control equipment.
We are looking for candidates who have a proven track record of design, testing, and starting up industrial control systems for municipal water/wastewater work. A successful candidate will be able to efficiently operate in a team environment and be comfortable interfacing not only with their engineering team and colleagues but also with Project Managers, Design Managers, Client Service Managers, as well as Client leadership and stakeholders.
This role requires the ability to integrate and apply BC's service offerings and talent to help our clients solve their most challenging issues.
Remote work is allowed; the ideal candidate will be located near one of our offices in either Denver, Salt Lake City, Boise, Seattle, Portland, Dallas or Houston.
