You are a trusted sparring partner and accompany our projects from the early concept phases.

You actively drive target costing and ensure that our products are developed cost-efficiently and value-optimized from the start. You establish modern design-to-cost methodologies, anchor them sustainably in our processes, and initiate concrete measures for sustainable cost reduction.

• You are responsible for the planning, organization, and moderation of value engineering and design-to-cost (DtC) workshops for the targeted optimization of product costs
• In close cooperation with R&D, Cost Engineering, and other interfaces, you ensure transparency, coordination, and effective cross-departmental collaboration
• Stakeholders and development teams are proactively involved:
  You initiate reviews, develop pragmatic alternatives, and consistently drive cost-reduction measures without affecting development progress
• The evaluation of concept architectures, including competitive comparisons, as well as the estimation of cost effects of alternative design solutions are central components of your work
• Through analyses of cost drivers at component and function level as well as profound insights into different manufacturing technologies, you create a solid decision-making basis
• In addition, you identify production-appropriate design improvements and actively contribute your cost expertise to design reviews and decision-making processes
• You communicate effectively with internal stakeholders to capture requirements, align expectations, and integrate feedback
• You prepare and present the results from value analysis/value engineering (VAVE) with clear action recommendations to management
• You actively shape the setup and establishment of the DtC function, define pragmatic standards, realize quick successes, and scale best practices across projects

• You have successfully completed a degree in engineering or a comparable technical education
• You have several years of professional experience in value engineering or cost engineering as well as profound knowledge in industrial engineering and production technologies
• You have demonstrable successes in implementing cost reduction initiatives or in building cost-focused working methods
• Your profile is complemented by know-how in target costing and DfX-/DFMA-methods, secure application of CAD-/PLM-tools as well as strong Excel skills; desirable are also corresponding certifications and insights into production environments in the area of material handling/industrial trucks
• An independent, proactive working style as well as a strong willingness to shape things enable you to drive topics forward independently
• You convince with pronounced analytical abilities, innovative thinking, and an open, solution-oriented attitude that make you a valuable sparring partner in projects
