Position Summary:We are seeking a technically proficient and driven Senior Technical Business Developer to lead customer engagement for our sub-transmission portfolio, focusing on 72.5–145 kV Dead Tank Circuit Breakers. This hybrid role bridges product management and sales, ensuring our f-gas-free, digital-ready DTB solutions meet evolving utility needs and position us as a market leader. This position reports directly to the Product Marketing Director and functionally to the Global Portfolio Management of Grid Components.
This is a remote position. Candidates can be located anywhere in the US, with preference for Cary, NC or Houston, TX.
Key Responsibilities:- Market strategy & growth — Drive U.S. sub‑transmission market expansion by developing new utility/EPC/OEM opportunities, shaping go‑to‑market plans, and securing product homologation.
- Technical leadership — Act as the primary technical interface, leading configuration discussions, advanced feature evaluations, and pre‑sales solution design.
- Standards & industry influence — Ensure IEEE/ANSI compliance, represent the company in industry bodies, and help shape evolving technical specifications.
- Partnerships & product innovation — Build strategic ecosystem relationships while channeling customer insights to guide product evolution, digital integration, and sustainable SF6‑free technology adoption.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or other Engineering field required.
- 10+ years of experience in high voltage equipment, preferably with circuit breakers or other key substation components.
- Deep understanding of sub-transmission applications and utility processes in the US.
- Proven experience in technical sales, product management, or business development.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Experience with vacuum interrupter technology and SF6-free solutions/regulation.
- Familiarity with IEEE/ANSI standards for high-voltage products.
- Ability to travel up to 30% - domestic and international - may be required.
