Senior Structural Forensic Engineer; Remote

Metric is representing a confidential engineering consultancy seeking a Senior Structural Forensic Engineer to support complex investigations involving structural damage, property loss, and construction-related failures.

This role is ideal for an experienced forensic engineer who enjoys technical problem solving, field investigations, and delivering clear, defensible engineering opinions.

You will investigate structural issues across commercial, residential, and industrial properties, working on matters involving:

• Water intrusion and moisture damage
• Wind, impact, and vibration-related claims
• Construction defects and code-related concerns
• Building envelope and structural performance issues

You’ll combine site inspections, technical analysis, and reporting to determine causation and support repair recommendations.

• Conduct field investigations and property inspections
• Analyze structural failures and damage mechanisms
• Prepare concise technical reports and findings
• Support litigation matters, depositions, and expert opinions when needed
• Collaborate with clients, legal teams, and insurance stakeholders
• Manage multiple assignments in a fast-paced consulting environment

• Professional Engineer (PE) license required
• 10+ years of structural or civil engineering experience
• Background in forensic engineering, structural investigations, or consulting preferred
• Strong report writing and communication skills
• Expert witness or deposition experience is beneficial
• General Contractor license is a plus
