Supervising Mechanical Engineer

We are seeking a Supervising Mechanical Engineer to join our team in San Diego, CA office.

As a Supervising Engineer, you will represent the Firm in interactions with clients, contractors, architects, and other project team members. You will supervise, coordinate, and assign various projects to be performed by the team.

Mission Critical, Science + Technology, Healthcare, and Project Management experience is a plus. Our dynamic work environment provides a supportive culture, diverse workforce, and competitive compensation with a flexible schedule.

As a Supervising Mechanical Engineer, you will serve as Engineer of Record on dedicated projects and lead coordination meetings. You will supervise staff, participate in budgeting and scheduling, and manage staff performance.

• Providing periodic objective and comprehensive employee evaluations.
• Acting as Engineer of Record on dedicated projects.
• Assisting Technical Manager and Chief Engineer in technical training and staff mentoring.
• Coordinating and assigning projects to the engineering team (system design and project engineering).
• Establishing design standards, specifications, and criteria for projects.
• Leading and supervising staff as they perform tasks.
• Managing Construction Administrative duties (field reports, RFIs, Bulletins and Addenda).
• Coordinating with accounting to prepare monthly project invoices; monitoring accounts receivable and expediting payment.
• Monitoring all correspondence between staff, clients, contractors, Owners, etc.
• Participating in firmwide Expert Teams and budgeting, scheduling, and staff management.
• Preparing proposals and administering project contracts, including add service agreements.
• Supervising and leading coordination meetings; preparing analyses and reports of system options and building conditions.

Successful candidates must have a current PE registration and healthcare design experience. Experience with Critical Facilities, Commercial, and Aviation projects is a plus.

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited institution
• 12+ years’ experience in a consulting firm; senior-level role with a background in MEP engineering
• 3 years of supervisory experience
• Hands-on design and CAD/REVIT experience, required, as you will have a strong technical role
• PE licensure required

Salary range for this posting: $108,135 - $162,203 USD
