About The Role

We are recruiting a KTP associate based at James Walker Sealing Systems in Bingley, working with the Warwick Manufacturing Group (WMG) at the University of Warwick in the Power Electronics and Electric Machines Group. The role involves working with a multi‑disciplinary team on the development of a smart mechanical stress monitoring system.

We seek an electronics engineer to work on remote monitoring instrumentation using best practice communications protocols, hardware development, and validation. The project will create a commercially acceptable remote monitoring system that measures mechanical stress, collects data and transmits it to a central computing facility. The product will be applied to renewables, power generation and heavy industry applications.

Candidates should have a degree in electrical or electronics engineering or a similar discipline and broad experience in product hardware and software design, including system modelling, circuit design and communications theory. Experience in project delivery, engineering expertise in industry and/or academia, and ability to make best use of state‑of‑the‑art research facilities is required. Knowledge of Design for Manufacture, service and end‑of‑life, and familiarity with HSE and WEEE regulations is essential.

• Design and develop remote monitoring hardware and firmware.

• Conduct system modelling and performance testing.
• Prepare technical documentation and contribute to knowledge transfer.

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in electrical or electronics engineering.
• Experience in circuit design, communications theory, and system modelling.
• Hands‑on hardware development and validation of embedded systems.
• Project delivery experience in industry or academia.
• Understanding of Design for Manufacture, HSE and WEEE regulations.
