Relay Settings Engineer
Leidos, a leader in technology solutions for government and commercial customers, is seeking a Relay Settings Engineer to join our Power Delivery Solutions division in Framingham, MA. In this role you will work closely with protection engineers and utility clients on substation and renewable energy projects.
Hybrid or Remote: Fully remote positions are available for candidates with relay settings experience; otherwise, hybrid work is required two to four days per week in the Framingham office.
What You’ll Be Doing- Work with protection engineers and perform quality reviews on relay setting packages.
- Create logic diagrams for IEC
61850 substations. - Interact directly with clients and team members in remote locations.
- Support project planning, design, and construction activities.
- Develop relay settings from 4.16 kV through 500 kV, including set points, logic diagrams, configuration files, and documentation.
- Resolve complex substation engineering challenges.
- Associate Level: Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering (BSEE) and internship experience.
- Intermediate Level: Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering (BSEE) and at least three years of related experience.
- Willingness to travel to customer sites and testing labs as needed.
- Experience creating relay settings and logic diagrams.
- Knowledge of Aspen One Liner and/or Siemens CAPE for coordination studies and fault analysis.
- Experience with protective relay coordination studies.
- Familiarity with relay platforms such as SEL, Alstom, GE, ABB, Schweitzer AcSELerator Quick Set, GE Ener Vista, and Schneider Electric MiCOM is a plus.
- Strong engineering and interpersonal skills with high attention to detail.
- Experience implementing control and protection schemes, interpreting schematics, wiring diagrams, and preparing relay logic.
- Experience preparing technical reports.
- Understanding of power system protection principles.
- Ability to travel overnight occasionally.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast‑paced team environment.
- EIT/PE license.

Pay Range: $57,850.00 - $. This range is a general guideline and not a guarantee of compensation.
