What Your Day Will Look Like:
Consor is seeking a motivated Engineer in Training (EIT) to join our growing Structural / Bridge Engineering Group in our Draper, Utah office. As part of a close‑knit team, you will work on a wide range of structural and bridge design projects under the guidance of an experienced professional. The role includes designing highway bridges, pedestrian bridges, culverts, walls, overhead sign structures, and miscellaneous drainage structures.
You will have opportunities to grow professionally, learn transportation structure design, and build client relationships.
Salary range: $75 – 105k (Depending on experience). Compensation may exceed this range for candidates with more significant experience beyond the minimum requirements.
What You’ll Do- Collaborate with other engineers on projects.
- Set and achieve career building goals.
- Perform structural and bridge analysis and engineering calculations.
- Develop structural/bridge plans, specifications, estimates, and supporting documents.
- Conduct conceptual engineering studies.
- Support preliminary engineering and final design efforts.
- Prepare technical reports.
- Coordinate with internal project managers, coworkers, local governments, and UDOT.
- 2+ years of civil engineering experience with a focus on bridge design.
- Demonstrated experience with bridge design principles and methodologies.
- Knowledge of concrete and steel design.
- EIT certification or ability to obtain certification within a reasonable time frame (pass FE exam).
- Experience required with Bentley Open Roads Designer (ORD) or other versions of Micro Station, and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Beneficial but not required software experience with Mathcad, Erickson Culvert, BGS, PGSuper, RISA, LEAP Bridge Suite, and AutoCAD Civil 3D.
This hybrid job operates between an office environment and a field environment and routinely requires the use of standard office equipment such as computers, phones, and copy machines. It may require occasional exposure to work environments that include inclement weather, heat, humidity, noise, hazard, atmospheric conditions, and bodies of water, depending on project requirements. Physical demands include frequent sitting, moving, standing, talking, hearing, and occasional balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, handling, grasping, and feeling.
The job may occasionally require operating a company vehicle, and lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling up to 35 lbs.
