Planning Associate

Overview

MRB Group is a multi‑disciplined, high‑energy engineering, architecture and planning firm where creativity and innovation are valued. We are currently recruiting for a Planning Associate to join our growing team in Rochester, New York.

• Minimum of 3‑5 years of experience with a BS/BA degree in environmental planning, civil engineering, or related field.
• Ability to comprehend typical subdivision/site plans, grading plans and contours, utility layouts, elevations, and engineering reports.
• Knowledge of NYSDEC stormwater regulations and MS4 requirements.
• Strong ability to translate maps, plans, and engineering documents into descriptive written communication and public presentations.
• Ability to work with a fast‑paced team and perform assigned tasks with minimal supervision.
• Ability to manage workload on multiple projects and deliver projects on time.
• Exceptional problem solving and communication skills, both written and oral.
• Public speaking, presentation skills, and interactions with clients, community residents, municipal staff and elected officials will be expected.

Estimated annual base salary range: $70,000 – $90,000. Actual salary will be based on experience, qualifications and skill level.
