Air Traffic Control Radar Systems Engineers

30% Travel | United States | Full-Time

Position Overview

Crown Innovations is seeking Air Traffic Control Radar System Engineers with experience supporting digital Primary Airport Surveillance Radar (DASR) systems, including FAA ASR-9 and ASR-11 models, as well as FAA Secondary Radar Systems such as ATCBI-6/Mode-S or comparable military primary and secondary radar systems.

These roles support the preparation of Site Readiness, Site Design, and Site‑Specific Implementation Plans (SSIP) for radar system installations. Military personnel with radar system experience across various branches of the U.S. Armed Forces, including operation and engineering support of radar equipment, are encouraged to apply.

This role supports federally regulated infrastructure projects and requires alignment with technical, regulatory, and operational requirements.

This role may require up to 30% travel and supports a remote work environment.

  • System engineers are involved in the entire lifecycle of newly installed radar systems, from initial concept through to in‑service support, ensuring that the site design meets technical, operational, and safety standards.
Implementation Planning
  • Prepare a System Level Implementation Plan (SLIP) for government approval activities, including Site Surveys, Site Design, Facility Adaptation (Site Preparations), Installation Optimization and checkout, acceptance testing, and Equipment Cutover.
  • Prepare a Site‑Specific Implementation Plan (SSIP) based on a Generic Site Implementation Plan (GSIP), including a complete set of drawings, specifications, plans, and designs for construction, site preparation, installation, optimization, testing, legacy equipment removal, and disposition.
  • Ensure SSIP includes all electrical, mechanical, test equipment, and physical installation aspects for new equipment installation solutions, including interfacing with government‑specified demarcation points.
