Job Summary
Fuss & O'Neill is seeking an Environmental Compliance Engineer to join our Environmental Compliance team. The role involves supporting a variety of industrial and environmental compliance projects, helping clients navigate complex environmental regulations while developing practical and sustainable solutions. You will work on projects involving air permitting, wastewater compliance, stormwater management, hazardous waste support, and industrial compliance services. This hybrid role balances technical work, client interaction, and field activities, offering flexible and remote work options while encouraging collaboration in the office.
Key Responsibilities- Prepare environmental compliance plans including SWPPPs, SPCC Plans, and Contingency Plans
- Independently develop air permit and wastewater permit applications
- Complete annual environmental compliance reports such as Tier II, Form R, Title V, permit‑by‑rule, and Biennial Reports
- Perform air emissions calculations and wastewater reporting
- Conduct AST and UST compliance inspections
- Support industrial wastewater and underground storage tank design projects
- Perform onsite contract compliance services at client facilities
- Conduct stormwater and wastewater discharge sampling and prepare technical summary reports
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary project teams to deliver high‑quality client solutions
- Assist clients in maintaining compliance with federal, state, and local environmental regulations
- Bachelor's degree in Environmental Engineering or a related field
- 5+ years of environmental compliance or related consulting experience
- Engineer‑in‑Training (E.I.T.) certification preferred
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and AutoCAD
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with the ability to clearly present technical information
- Strong technical writing skills, including preparation of reports, compliance documentation, and technical memoranda
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines independently
- Willingness to travel approximately 60% within the state for project and client needs
