Position: Staff Mechanical Enigneer

Staff Mechanical Engineer | Lockheed Martin

Lockheed Martin's Syracuse Facility is an engineering hub for the U.S. Navy's Mk48 advanced heavyweight torpedo. The program delivers the design, integration, manufacture, and test of the guidance and control section and warhead electronics system, while continually inserting new technologies to keep the weapon at the cutting edge.

WHO WE ARE

WHO YOU ARE

A licensed or graduate-level Mechanical Engineer with a strong background in design, analysis, and manufacturing. Proven leader who can drive multidisciplinary teams and influence senior stakeholders. Skilled in 3-D CAD (e.g., Creo, CATIA, Solid Works), FEA, thermal and vibration analysis tools. Experienced in root-cause problem solving, DFMEA/FRACAS processes, and configuration management. Excellent communicator, comfortable presenting technical information to customers and senior leadership.

Willing to work on-site in Syracuse, NY, with up to 10% travel to customer sites, supplier facilities, or test events.

Desired skills

Experience with electronic systems integration (warhead or guidance electronics). Familiarity with torpedo or underwater weapon systems and the US Navy submarine fleet. Advanced degree in a relevant engineering discipline. Creo experience. Windchill EPDM experience.
