Freese and Nichols is seeking a Registered Professional Electrical Engineer in Fort Worth, Dallas, Austin, or Houston, Texas.
What You’ll Do- Analyze existing electrical systems and recommend cost-effective improvements and modifications.
- Design complete electrical systems including power distribution, lighting, generator systems, and controls for building systems.
- Develop project designs from planning through construction, including equipment evaluation and field verification.
- Perform site visits, witness testing, and support construction‑phase services.
- Ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and with technical accuracy.
- Lead and mentor junior engineers in design development and professional growth.
- Provide quality control reviews for design documents to ensure technical adequacy.
- Ensure designs meet applicable codes, standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license.
- 4+ years of experience in facility engineering.
- Experience across project phases including planning, design, and construction.
- Experience working with clients, contractors, and multidisciplinary teams.
- Proficiency in electrical power, lighting, and generator design for building electrical systems.
- Ability to be licensed as a PE in other U.S. states.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and construction documents.
- Proficiency in Revit.
- Paid overtime for salaried employees.
- Annual bonus.
- Access to company cabins in Red River, New Mexico, and Banner Elk, North Carolina.
- Hybrid schedule with up to 40% remote work.
- Alternative work schedule providing a day off every other Friday.
