Position DescriptionWe are looking for a Mechanical Engineer to join our Water Resources Team to improve infrastructure in our Taylor office. The candidate must be a licensed PE with a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering and at least five years of related experience. The candidate should have experience working with HVAC and plumbing projects for water/wastewater facilities. The candidate must also be self‑motivated, work well with others, and have excellent writing, organizational, and communication skills.
A flexible hybrid‑remote work schedule is available after 30 days of employment.
- Provide technical planning, and mechanical (HVAC, Plumbing) design and construction support on various water and wastewater treatment and resource recovery projects, including combined sewer overflow facilities, pump stations, wastewater treatment plants, and water treatment plants.
- Prepare engineering calculations and support analysis of alternatives. Utilize effective technical writing skills to prepare technical memoranda to document alternative analyses, basis of design, business‑case evaluations, reports, etc.
- Prepare design reports and construction plans for treatment plants and pump stations using local and state standards.
- Prepare/assist with specifications and permit submittals.
- Assist with/review scope, budget, and schedule of new project tasks.
- Monitor task budget and progress.
- Document design changes and communications.
- Conduct on‑site inspections and provide technical guidance for startup as needed.
- Prepare project status and other reports.
- Assist in the preparation of proposals.
- Attend client, public, project and staff meetings including client progress, plan review, pre‑construction, etc.
- Possess strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Maintain excellent client relations.
- Maintain a safe working environment.
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering
- 5–20 years of experience.
- Professional Engineer license.
- Experience working with HVAC and plumbing projects for water/wastewater facilities.
- Experience developing detailed design plans for treatment projects.
- Strong written and verbal skills.
