We have a great opportunity for a Geotechnical Engineer to join our Morristown, New Jersey / New York offices and be part of the Geotechnical Group for the Northeast region. You’ll have the opportunity to follow projects from concept through construction on design-bid-build and design-build projects in highways, rail, water, environmental, ports and maritime, and advanced facilities sectors.
Responsibilities- Design of shallow and deep foundations
- Design of earth retaining structures
- Slope stabilizing measures
- Liquefaction mitigation
- Ground improvement
- Coordination and generation of geotechnical-based drawings and specifications, and preparation of data, baseline, and interpretative reports
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Experience in field assignments that include observation of explorations (soil and rock borings, test pits, CPT soundings, geophysical testing) and laboratory testing of soils and rock
- Knowledge of the design process for shallow and deep foundations, earth retaining structures, embankment and cut slopes, and slope stabilization
- Design and installation of geotechnical instrumentation and monitoring; inspection of earth retaining structures, deep foundations (drilled shafts, driven piles), shallow foundations, and trenchless pipe installation
- Preparation of technical reports, design drawings, and specifications
- Experience with Plaxis is a plus
- B.S. in Civil Engineering
- M.S. with concentration in Geotechnical Engineering (preferred)
- Professional Engineering (PE) license (preferred)
The base salary range for this position is $ to $. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
