Remote Structural Engineer

Overview

Position:
Structural Engineer (SE)

• Contribute to and support the engineering effort for the firm; execute design duties to ensure quality is maintained.
• Lead and mentor subordinate staff to expand their capabilities and contributions.
• Develop and implement design criteria and system designs from concept through detailed design and construction.
• Collaborate with team members, mentor staff, and continuously seek improvement.
• Research applicable codes, interpret information in design documents, and apply engineering principles to resolve problems.
• Perform system calculations, size and select components, and produce design drawings.
• Review shop drawings/submittals, perform field verification, and travel to job sites as needed.
• Produce field reports and punch lists; maintain high-quality technical writing for design criteria and related documents.

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering; master’s degree with a structural emphasis or equivalent from an ABET-accredited institution.
• Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) and licensed Structural Engineer (SE) preferred; at minimum, licensed as PE with SE desirable; active NCEES registration in good standing.
• Minimum 5 years of post-degree structural engineering experience.
• Operational experience in REVIT and AutoCAD; proficiency with Staad, Tedds, Excel, and related tools.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• This is a remote position or a hybrid option for local residents; eligibility to work in the U.S. as a citizen or permanent resident.

The role may involve coordinating with other disciplines and ensuring compliance with design standards and project requirements.
