Job Overview

Project controls professional role within Bechtel Infrastructure's Renewables & Clean Power business line, focused on cost estimating, analysis, and control activities for forthcoming combined cycle power plant projects in multiple locations across the United States. Initial assignments may be in Reston, VA with mobilization to project sites after award.

In this role, you will lead a team and be accountable for project cost estimating, analysis, and control activities. You will communicate cost trends for management attention, support project organizational and administrative activities, and ensure work is completed as scheduled. Your data analysis will provide innovative solutions to cost engineering challenges, and your leadership will be essential to project success. You will have regular interfaces with senior internal and customer stakeholders.

• Accountable for cost estimating, analysis, and control activities for the entire project, requiring a high degree of technical skill
• Responsible for cost reporting and financial forecasting, including input for the PFSR
• Establishes project control budgets based on approved project cost estimate
• Identifies and communicates cost trends for management attention
• Supports project organizational and administrative activities
• Works on tasks of diverse scope where analysis of situations or data requires evaluation of a variety of factors
• Implements measurement systems for given processes, analyzes performance metric results, and identifies opportunities for improvements
• Prepares, coordinates, and directs cost engineering presentations and dashboards
• Analyzes data to provide innovative solutions to cost engineering challenges
• Supports non-routine/ad-hoc tasks, as required

Requires bachelor’s degree (or international equivalent) and 10–13 years of relevant experience or 14–17 years of relevant work experience

• Demonstrated expertise in managing cost engineering functions, including cost estimation, cost control, and cost analysis, both onsite and within the home office. Proven ability to establish comprehensive criteria for Project Controls activities.
• Experience with Ecosys, Hyperion, and Microsoft Office software applications (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)
• Advanced statistical knowledge, including regression analysis, variance estimation, and correlation, with ability to apply statistical theory to real-world scenarios
• Experience in leadership, personnel administration, and training for technical and non-technical teams
• Strong oral and written communication skills, with a track record of presenting cost engineering information to management and clients
• Adept at identifying, analyzing, and resolving complex problems
