- Work within a multidisciplinary team to develop and launch innovative new products.
- Develop product design and engineering test implementation.
- Participate in product design reviews, DFMEA and validation planning execution.
- Provide engineering support for existing projects and product improvement projects.
- Provide qualifications for new/alternate vendors, components, and tooling.
- Assist in validation of foreign‑sourced competitive products.
- Define critical‑to‑quality dimensions and features of components and products.
- Improve existing products.
- Perform dimensional analysis and product testing as needed.
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or a related degree (required).
- Three plus years of related experience (required).
- Experience with project management (preferred).
- Experience in the design of pumps or other rotating equipment (preferred).
- Computer skills:
- Advanced:
Creo/Solid Works, PowerPoint, spreadsheet. - Intermediate:
Product lifecycle management, Word processing, data entry.
- Advanced:
- Reads technical drawings and strong knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
- Basic knowledge of various manufacturing processes (casting, machining, molding, etc.).
- Moderate level of analytical ability for complex technical problems.
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively with others.
- Analyzes information and evaluates results to choose the best solution and solve problems.
- Understands concepts of analytical tools such as finite element analysis.
- Utilizes common‑sense understanding to carry out written, oral, or diagrammed instructions.
- Plans the time, method, manner, and/or performance sequence of own work; may also occasionally assist in planning work assignments performed by others within a limited area of operation.
