Sr Civil Engineer

We are seeking a skilled Senior Civil Engineer to provide expert civil and structural engineering support for compressor station facilities across both expansion and maintenance capital projects. In this role, you will guide third‑party engineering firms, ensuring all project designs align with industry standards, regulatory requirements, and Enbridge’s engineering specifications, and collaborate closely with internal partners across Project Execution, Transmission, and Shared Services to meet project goals and deliverables.

What

You Will Do
  • Ensure all compressor station facilities are designed in accordance with all regulations, applicable industry codes, and corporate standards.
  • Provide interpretations and ensure compliance with Enbridge standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Collaborate with the project team to provide engineering expertise and solutions for design‑related challenges.
  • Manage the execution of design deliverables by a third‑party engineering firm against the project budget and schedule.
  • Review and approve design deliverables such as drawings, technical reports, and material listing sheets.
  • Review vendor material quotations, prepare technical evaluations, and recommend selections based on technical merit, price, and delivery.
  • Review lessons learned from past projects and incorporate recommendations into future designs.
  • Support department initiatives as required.
Who You Are Required
  • Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering.
  • Minimum of 6 years of experience.
  • Knowledgeable with regulatory and industry codes/standards for the oil and gas industry in the US.
Preferred
  • Capable of working independently, managing multiple projects and prioritizing tasks accordingly.
  • Problem solves issues through the use of standards, modification of standards, and/or previous experience.
  • Effectively communicates technical issues and impacts to both technical and non‑technical staff.
  • PE designation.
Working Conditions

80% of work is office‑based with multiple project teams; 20% of time is in the field scoping projects or supporting construction and commissioning activities. Work requires strong computer skills, typically using Microsoft Office applications. Deliverables are time‑sensitive.

Physical Requirements
  • Grasping, kneeling, light–moderate lifting (objects up to 45 pounds), reaching above shoulder, repetitive motion.
  • Sitting, standing, visual requirement (able to see screens, detect color coding, read fine print), hearing requirement.
Mental Requirements
  • Understand, remember, and apply oral and/or written instructions or other information.
  • Understand sophisticated problems and collaborate/explore alternative solutions.
  • Organize thoughts and ideas into understandable terminology.
  • Organize and prioritize work schedule on a short‑term basis.
  • Make decisions which have moderate impact on the immediate work unit and monitor impact outside this area.
  • Understand and follow basic instructions and guidelines, complete routine forms, compose letters, outlines, memoranda, and basic reports, and connect with individuals via telephone.
Salary

Ranges from $96,200 – $130,000 USD for US locations based upon candidate’s experience, skills, and internal equity.
