The Post‑Fab Product Realization department (05236) is seeking an experienced and motivated Product Engineer with expertise to join our team working on the development, production, and delivery of semiconductor integrated circuit products. As a successful candidate, you will be responsible for contributing as part of a team and leading efforts to deliver products for mission‑critical applications. In this role, you will partner with a diverse team of subject‑matter experts to: establish and maintain product definitions, define test requirements and processes, analyze and improve yields, track development and production progress, and pursue failure analysis to assure all product requirements are met.

You will perform a diverse set of complex assignments requiring multi‑disciplinary thinking, close teamwork, flexibility, and versatility. Having a desire to learn and develop your own skills will be crucial and beneficial as you join a fun and motivated team to accomplish missions relevant to Sandia and to our nation.

Due to the nature of the work, the selected applicant must be able to work onsite.

Salary Range

$117,500 – $235,700

* Salary range is estimated, and actual salary will be determined after consideration of the selected candidate’s experience and qualifications, and application of any approved geographic salary differential.

Qualifications We Require
  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline and five (5) years of directly relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of directly relevant education and engineering or scientific experience that demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and ability to perform independent research and development.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a DOE Q‑level security clearance.
Qualifications We Desire

The ideal R&D S&D Electronics Engineer candidate for Sandia National Laboratories will in addition possess the following:

  • Graduate degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a highly related field where an independent research project was a graduation requirement (e.g., independent project, thesis, or dissertation).
  • Demonstrated experience with analog and digital circuit design and analysis.
  • Hands‑on experience testing and debugging circuitry, with clear mastery of tools such as oscilloscopes, logic/network/spectrum analyzers, function/pulse generators, etc.
  • Proven experience with design and analysis tools (e.g., Matlab and LabVIEW), analog simulation codes (e.g., LTSpice), and HDL simulation codes (e.g., Model Sim).
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, ability to work effectively in multidisciplinary teams.
  • Experience in formal product development and engineering.
  • Experience in Electronics or Electrical engineering.
  • Ability to apply coordinated technical judgment using the scientific method to recognize and formulate problems in both R&D and manufacturing settings.
  • Process Change Control management and new process validation, while improving producibility and yield through experimental design.
