This position reports to:

New Co Reference Job

Participate in product engineering activities for PV and BESS projects all around the world.

You will become part of a high-performance team responsible for the electrical design of power transformers for power converters, that are manufactured by the company, for PV and BESS plants.

In this role, you'll help run what runs the world, by taking on meaningful work that drives real impact.

Key Responsibilities
  • Review calculations, technical documentation, and drawings for power transformers provided by OEM's
  • Support transformer product engineering from specification review through manufacturing, testing, and operation
  • Conduct transformer failure investigations, root cause analysis (RCA), and condition assessments using diagnostic techniques such as DGA, electrical testing, oil analysis, event logs, and internal inspections
  • Evaluate transformer performance under renewable energy operating profiles by assessing cyclic loading, overload capability, harmonic effects, losses, thermal behavior, and short-circuit withstand capability through technical reviews, analytical methods, and FEM simulations
  • Coordinate technical discussions with transformer OEMs and witness manufacturing process, FAT, routine and type testing to ensure compliance with project requirements
  • Provide technical support to project engineering, procurement, operations, sales, quality, and customer teams
  • Share technical knowledge and provide guidance and lessons learned on transformer performance, reliability, and design challenges within renewable energy projects

Qualifications for the Role
  • PhD degree in Electrical Engineering
  • 10+ years of experience in the transformer industry, including design, manufacturing, quality, testing, and service
  • Strong knowledge of power transformer electrical, dielectric, and thermal design, and transformer mechanics
  • Strong knowledge of routine, type, special, and field testing.
  • Proven experience in transformer diagnostics, condition assessment, failure analysis, troubleshooting, and root cause analysis (RCA)
  • Strong knowledge of international standards and industry practices, including IEC and IEEE
  • Proven experience with FEM-based electromagnetic and thermal simulations and engineering tools such as Ansys and MATLAB/Simulink

  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting capabilities
  • Effective communication with suppliers, customers, and multidisciplinary engineering teams
  • Fluent written and spoken English (C1 level or higher)
  • Willingness to travel occasionally to factories, test facilities and project locations
