Remote Electrical Engineer
Job Description
As an Electrical Engineer, you will perform detailed calculations to establish construction standards and specifications. You will prepare and study technical drawings and electrical specifications to ensure installations and designs conform to standards and customer requirements.
Your role will involve electrical design of projects from the conceptual phase through design completion, collaborating with multi-disciplinary teams for equipment layouts, one-line diagrams, cable routing, communications systems design, grounding design, equipment selection, and equipment specifications.
Responsibilities
+ Perform or be familiar with cable ampacity and trench design using software packages like CYMCAP, ETAP, or Amp Calc.
+ Model or be familiar with grounding system design using software package WinIGS.
+ Conduct field surveys and study diagrams and other data to identify and correct power system problems.
+ Confer with internal and external customers to discuss existing or potential construction projects.
+ Provide guidance to ensure construction activities comply with specifications, codes, and customer requirements.
+ Inspect completed installations to ensure conformance to design and equipment specifications.
+ Compile data and write reports regarding existing and potential engineering studies and projects.
+ Operate computer-assisted engineering and design software and equipment to perform engineering tasks.
+ Provide electrical engineering for complex projects with minimal team leader oversight.
+ Participate in customer and project interviews.
+ Proactively provide guidance to Level 1 and 2 Engineers and Designers as project-specific tasks are executed or as other opportunities are identified.
+ Provide training for other technical personnel in areas of expertise.
Essential Skills
+ Electrical engineering
+ Electrical design
+ Proficiency with AutoCAD and Revit
+ Experience in photovoltaic, renewables, and solar design
+ Ability to handle RFIs and apply professional engineering practices
+ Proficiency with PVSyst and PVcase
Additional
Skills & Qualifications
+ Associates or Bachelors degree in Electrical, Architectural Engineering, or related field
+ 5+ years of electrical engineering experience
+
Experience with PV Design
Work Environment
This role is primarily remote, with working hours from Monday to Friday. There is a requirement for quarterly travel, ranging from 5-15% of the time.

This is a Permanent position based out of Indianapolis, IN.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $110000.00 - $130000.00/yr.
