Transmission Line Engineer

Power your future with Qualus in our Engineering department as a Transmission Line Engineer designing transmission structures and power lines for high voltage applications. This position will be based in Moncks Corner, SC with the opportunity to work in a hybrid capacity.

Responsibilities
  • Design transmission structures and power lines for high voltage applications.
  • Prepare and review technical specifications and drawings.
  • Conduct engineering analysis and simulations for transmission line design.
  • Provide support to the project team during construction and installation.
  • Collaborate with other engineers and project managers to ensure project goals are met.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable codes, standards, and regulations.
  • Perform field work as required to support design, construction, and commissioning activities.
  • Interface directly with client team and other stakeholders to ensure project success.
  • Participate in project meetings and provide technical support as required.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree Engineering. Civil, Mechanical or Electrical are preferred.
  • Ideal candidates will possess 3-5 years of experience in transmission line design for high voltage applications.
  • Strong knowledge of structural design and analysis principles and tools.
  • Proficiency in engineering software such as PLS-CADD, PLS-POLE, and AutoCAD.
  • Familiarity with industry codes and standards such as NESC, IEC, and IEEE.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently and in a team environment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Associate Project Manager

Under general direction, assists in managing a large portfolio of electric utility projects to ensure all phases of approved projects are completed efficiently and within scope, on schedule, and within budget. Works closely with personnel to engineer, design, site, permit and construct assigned projects. Assists project managers with securing approval for permits and licenses, budgets materials, contractors, and other resources.

Primary duties include overall responsibility for the management of all aspects of assigned projects including managing the development and process for evaluation of bid documents for engineering, design and construction, as well as for the procurement of material and equipment; and ensuring all aspects of the projects are documented and completed in accordance with company policies and all regulations and laws.

Responsible for independently managing smaller projects, demonstrating proficiency in the Project Lifecycle and project controls requirement.
