RF Engineer III
Contract Length: 6 months
Location: remote
Work Setup: Remote (Candidates located near a company office may have the opportunity to work on-site, subject to discussion during the interview process.)
Join a leading telecommunications organization dedicated to expanding next-generation wireless networks across the Big East region. We are seeking an experienced RF Engineer III to support RF Design initiatives, leading modification and small cell projects from initial design through final in-service deployment while collaborating with cross-functional engineering teams.
RF Engineer III Responsibilities- Lead end-to-end RF Design projects, including site modifications and small cell deployments.
- Design, optimize, and troubleshoot 5
GHR (Tanglewood) networks to maximize performance, reliability, and capacity. - Monitor and analyze 5G mmWave and C-Band network KPIs to identify optimization opportunities.
- Perform RF propagation model tuning to improve simulation accuracy across target markets.
- Review and maintain technical and regulatory documentation, including Zoning Drawings (ZD) and Construction Drawings (CD).
- Utilize SQL, VB Script, Google Workspace, and Apps Script automation to analyze network data and streamline reporting.
- Partner closely with Real Estate, Construction, Project Management, and regional RF engineering teams to ensure successful project execution.
- Conduct the majority of site reviews remotely while remaining available for occasional field visits as needed.
- 5 7 years of RF engineering experience with strong expertise in RF theory and 5
GHR (Tanglewood) network design, optimization, and parameter management. - Extensive knowledge of 5G mmWave and C-Band technologies, network KPIs, and performance optimization.
- 3+ years interpreting network and cell build documentation, including ZDs and CDs.
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage technical documentation and meet aggressive project timelines.
- Some completed higher education.
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications, or a related technical field.
- Experience with RF propagation model tuning.
- Proficiency with SQL scripting, VB Script, Google Workspace, and Apps Script.
- Experience working with millimeter wave (mmWave) spectrum.
- Recent Telecommunication market experience.
- Hands-on experience with VZAtoll, Fuze SPM, RFDS, and CQ.
- Familiarity with the Big East region, including states such as Illinois, Ohio, New York, Massachusetts, and Connecticut.
