About the RoleYou will be a member of our multi‑disciplinary team and will work under the direction of a licensed engineer. Projects may include new construction and renovation in educational, healthcare, corporate commercial and science and technology settings.
Responsibilities- Under supervision of a professional engineer perform designs of uncomplicated piping and equipment selection for HVAC systems. Assist with plumbing and fire protection designs as necessary.
- Prepare building load calculations using modeling software under supervisory direction.
- Prepare energy models with appropriate software and supervisory oversight.
- Develop Revit/BIM models of construction drawings for HVAC systems from schematic design to construction administration phases, including layout, sketches and detail drawings. Perform Revit/BIM modeling for plumbing and fire protection systems as needed.
- Assist with editing specifications for existing and new projects.
- Review submittals and shop drawings for compliance with contract documents.
- Research assigned topics and respond to emergent issues.
- Write draft reports for review by a professional engineer.
- Gather information for RFIs and review change orders in the preparation of construction documents.
- Perform job‑site visits to verify existing conditions and observe construction progress, often requiring a physical walk‑through.
- Coordinate specific activities on particular elements of a project.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering required; ABET‑accredited program preferred.
- Minimum of 2 years of related experience required.
- EIT/FE in the United States preferred.
- LEED accreditation preferred.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects effectively.
- Experience with engineering design programs such as Revit, Trane Trace or Trane 3D Plus required.
Salary range for the Buffalo, NY office: $67,014 – $74,460 annually. Employees may be eligible for discretionary bonuses.
