What Your Day Will Look Like:

The Transportation Project Manager will lead the delivery of roadway projects from conceptual design through preliminary, intermediate, and final design phases to construction. You’ll manage a team of engineers and designers in all aspects of design and plan preparation for roadway, highway, and civil improvement projects for State, City, and County agencies.

What You’ll Do:
  • Plan, direct and manage transportation projects, overseeing all aspects of multi‑disciplinary transportation planning projects across the region.
  • Provide superior client service through quality management, technical excellence, responsiveness, and production management of design plans and specifications, reports and analyses.
  • Prepare scope, schedule, and budgets for projects and task orders.
  • Develop and present complex technical solutions to clients, demonstrating innovative problem‑solving abilities.
  • Oversee the planning and design for roadway, Bridge and traffic engineering projects.
  • Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to deliver high‑quality project outcomes.
  • Assist in business development and proposal efforts with local municipal, state, and private clients.
What You’ll Need:
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Construction Management, Planning, Sciences or a closely related field.
  • Registered Professional Engineer in TN or ability to retain PE within 1 year.
  • Minimum of 9+ years of experience in transportation engineering and project management.
  • Proven track record of successfully managing complex roadway/highway projects.
  • Proficiency in transportation design software, including Open Roads and Micro Station.
  • Strong knowledge of transportation industry standards, regulations, and best practices.
  • Excellent leadership, team management, and mentoring skills.
  • Outstanding communication and presentation abilities, with experience in client‑facing roles.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and project management tools.
  • Detail‑oriented with excellent organizational and time‑management skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a fast‑paced, dynamic environment.
