Mid-level or senior Environmental Scientist

An established environmental law firm is currently seeking a mid-level or senior Environmental Scientist to perform environmental due diligence services. The ideal candidate will have 3 or more years of experience with environmental due diligence services including: performing or reviewing Phase I Environmental Site Assessments, knowledge of state and federal regulatory programs and understanding of commercial real estate lending and redevelopment.

We are seeking an ASTM-defined "Environmental Professional" to fill an as-needed 1099 or part-time position with the potential for the position to evolve into salaried full-time employee. No travel is required. While our office is in Kansas City, remote work is acceptable. Compensation is commensurate with experience. We are seeking candidates interested in long-term employment. The ideal candidate should have the following experience and skills:

• At least three years of experience with environmental due diligence projects, such as Phase Environmental Site Assessments (ESAs) and have a P.E. or P.G. certification, or bachelor's degree in environmental science, engineering, or geology, or a related science and five years experience
• Knowledge and experience in assessing various property types (including but not limited to gas stations, dry cleaners, printing facilities, industrial and manufacturing sites, and automotive repair and body shops)
• Experience in evaluating all types of environmental regulatory cases, such as LUST, State Hazardous Wastes, and NPL sites
• Strong written and verbal communication skills are a must
• Time management, organizational and strong interpersonal skills are a must
• Client-focused and team player
