As a Lead Field Service Technician here at Honeywell, you will have the opportunity to lead and manage a team of field service technicians, providing technical guidance and support. Your expertise and leadership will drive the success of our field service operations, ensuring efficient and effective service delivery to our customers.
You will report directly to our Field Service Supervisor and you’ll work out of our Altamonte Springs, FL location on a Remote work schedule.
In this role, you will impact the success of our field service operations, the satisfaction of our customers, and the growth of the organization by leading technical teams and ensuring top-quality service delivery.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES- Provide technical expertise and support for complex technical issues, both remotely and on-site.
- Install and configure automation equipment, sensors, PLCs (Programmable Logic Controllers), and control systems.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and implement solutions for customer needs.
- Stay updated with industry trends and advancements and provide recommendations for improvement.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
- Prepares evaluation reports, analyzes discrepancies, makes recommendations for and initiates improvements procedures and operational processes that improve productivity/ quality and reduce flowtime.
- Troubleshoots and repairs complex electrical/electronic problems with equipment, networks, PC logic controls, Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs) and external Input/Output (I/O) devices.
- Conducts activities in a safe and healthy manner and works in accordance with established HSE requirements to ensure the protection of employees, the public, and the environment.
- Perform preventative maintenance to ensure system reliability and code compliance.
- Respond to urgent service calls and resolve system impairments.
- Participate in on-call rotations and provide after-hours support when required.
- Perform routine inspections and functional testing of fire alarm and life safety systems.
- Complete inspection/change outs reports accurately and submit documentation in a timely manner.
- Identify system deficiencies and recommend corrective actions.
- Install, program, and commission fire alarm systems, including panels, detectors, notification appliances, and related hardware
- Minimum of 5 years of proven experience in field service engineering, with a focus on complex technical solutions.
- Strong technical knowledge and expertise in relevant technologies.
- Excellent leadership and team management skills.
- Ability to effectively manage and prioritize multiple projects and tasks.
- Experience in driving process improvements and implementing best practices.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related field; master’s degree preferred.
- Strong leadership and mentoring skills.
- Ability to work independently and make sound decisions.
- Continuous learning mindset and willingness to stay updated with industry advancements.
- Results-oriented approach and ability to drive projects to successful completion.
