A short 27 miles from Boston, our office is centrally located just south of the confluence of US Route 3, Route 495, and the Lowell Connector, with a stop along the MBTA's Lowell bus route 15, and a short drive from the Lowell and Billerica commuter rail stops. This office is located along the developing Route 129 corridor in Chelmsford.
ResponsibilitiesAs a Project Engineer, you will be responsible for:
- Having a primary role in an integrated, multi-disciplined team that solves technical challenges on projects of significant scope, size, and difficulty.
- Completing assignments accurately and on time with limited direction from the Project Manager
- Developing an understanding of project budget, scope of services, project development, project schedule and providing updates and recommendations to the Project Manager in maintaining schedule and budget
- Understanding the client's organization, key people, and client expectations.
- Sharing best practices to improve performance and efficiency of self and team
- Developing person-hour estimates and budgets with guidance from senior staff
- Leading a small team for moderately complex projects
- Assisting in proposal efforts and development
- Providing coaching, mentoring and feedback to develop entry-level and staff engineers, peers, and others as needed
- Conducting site visits and participating in or leading meetings with clients/contractors
- Demonstrating strong technical writing and presentation skills for deliverables, proposals, and presentation in a public setting (for clients or at seminars/conferences)
Qualified Candidates will have:
- BS (MS preferred) Degree in Civil/Structural Engineering
- 5 - 10 years of relevant experience
- Current PE in NH, MA, ME, or VT
- Experience with MaineDOT, NHDOT, VTrans or MassDOT and municipal bridge projects
- Experience with the software and programs which include AutoCAD, Microstation, Bridge Structural Analysis Programs, Math Cad, Blue Beam, etc.
- Salary is contingent on experience
