Renewables Substation Engineer

Seeking a highly skilled Collector Substation Engineer with a strong background in renewables and collector or generation side experience. The ideal candidate will hold a Professional Engineer (PE) license and a Master of Science in Electrical Engineering (MSEE). This is a remote position, offering flexibility and the opportunity to work on diverse and impactful projects in the renewable energy field.

Key Responsibilities:

Design, develop, and implement collector substation projects with a focus on renewable energy generation and integration.
Conduct detailed engineering analysis and calculations to ensure optimal performance and reliability of substations.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop project plans, specifications, and cost estimates.
Perform equipment selection, layout design, and technical evaluations for substation components.
Ensure compliance with industry standards, regulations, and safety protocols.
Provide technical support and guidance during construction, testing, and commissioning phases.
Conduct site visits as necessary to assess project requirements and ensure proper implementation.
Stay updated with the latest advancements in renewable energy technologies and substation engineering practices.

Qualifications:

Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering (BSEE) required.
Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred.
5+ years of experience in substation engineering, with at least one year on the generation side.
Experience from a consulting company rather than a utility.
Strong knowledge of renewable energy systems and their integration with substations.
Proficient in relevant engineering software and tools.
Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work independently in a remote setting and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
