We are seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer with a PE license and deep mission critical expertise to join our growing team in a fully remote capacity, with preference for candidates based in Texas or Virginia. This role combines advanced technical design, project leadership, and client management across fast-paced, high-stakes data center and mission critical projects. The ideal candidate is a hands-on engineer who can drive full project life cycles — concept through construction administration — while maintaining AHA's high standards for quality and client satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities:
Mechanical Engineering & Design
Lead mechanical/HVAC design for mission critical facilities, including data centers, colocation facilities, and other high-availability environments. Perform and review complex engineering calculations, system sizing, code analysis, and equipment selection. Develop mechanical plans, specifications, and technical reports. Ensure designs comply with relevant codes and standards (ASHRAE, NFPA, IMC, IECC, Uptime Institute Tier standards, etc.). Review shop drawings, submittals, and RFIs; provide construction administration support.
Project Management
Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, architects, and contractors. Manage project scope, schedule, budget, and staffing from kickoff through closeout. Lead multidisciplinary coordination with electrical, plumbing, fire protection, and technology teams. Mentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance. Support proposal development, project planning, and workload forecasting.
Quality & Delivery
Conduct QA/QC reviews to ensure technical accuracy and consistency. Maintain strong communication and documentation throughout project execution. Drive efficiency and identify opportunities for continuous improvement
